Venus L. Works

Owner + Lead Therapist

Since 2009, Venus has counseled a myriad of adolescents and adults while working in Wayne State University's free clinic as both counselor and supervisor. She has also served as Director of School Counseling, Career Development and School Culture at University Prep Schools (Detroit). Currently, Venus owns and practices at Counseling Works, PLLC.

Venus has first-hand knowledge of and exposure to the overall impact of strong families on human development. She and her team continue to strive for positive client and family outcomes through research-based practices that support a healthy life.

Mary Long

Senior Associate Therapist

Mary is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker. She specializes in working with adults, adolescent, couples, and families. For over 10 years Mary has provided individual and group School Social Work services at Universal Academy, Michigan Technical Academy, and Oak Park Schools. Mary leads the Mental Health Department at Oak Park Schools; identifying new ways to provide Mental Health services.

Mary has experience working with those who have anxiety, depression, childhood, trauma (ACES), domestic and sexual trauma, grief, and a wide array of other issues. Carl Dade

Associate Therapist

Carl is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a Certified School Social Worker. He provides services to children, youth and families, as well as to adults with various mental health concerns.
