About Kimatha
Charity begins at home,” my mother would always say. “Outside, the world is hard enough but at home, you should have peace.” That belief guides my work with children and families today. I believe healing begins in spaces where children feel safe, seen, and supported and that this sense of home can be built through relationships, play, patience, and care. As adults, it is our responsibility to create environments where children are free to grow, learn, and express themselves without fear.
I am a Master of Social Work graduate from Michigan State University and currently serve as a part time therapist working with children and families. My experience includes working as a Registered Behavior Technician with autistic children, supporting children in Ecuador as they learned English, providing private therapy services for autistic youth and adults, and serving as a Family Intervention Specialist with Youth Villages utilizing play therapy and cognitive behavioral approaches. I am passionate about helping children build emotional strength, confidence, and trust while partnering with families in the healing process.
