About Mylissa

What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Mylissa is a clinical intern completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wayne State University. She is dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate life's challenges by fostering self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful personal growth.

Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with psychoanalytic principles, combining evidence-based interventions with deeper exploration of unconscious patterns, early life experiences, and relational dynamics. Fascinated by how emotional development, attachment experiences, and relationships shape emotional well-being across the lifespan, she draws from relational theories and therapeutic approaches.

She is a firm believer that lasting transformation comes from within. Mylissa helps clients recognize that while past experiences and future uncertainties influence their lives, their greatest capacity for healing, resilience, and growth lies in the strengths, insight, and potential they already possess. She believes that by cultivating self-understanding and embracing their inner resources, clients can move beyond old patterns, navigate life's challenges with greater confidence, and live more intentional, fulfilling lives.
